Course Objective: The overall aim of this a 5 days workshop is to increase the capacity of participants with the knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes necessary as they respond to current and future needs relating to HIV/AIDS through providing direct training and capacity building support.

Course Content: The course topics will include the following:

- Emerging trends in HIV and AIDS
- Modes of transmission of STI/HIV
- Effects of HIV and AIDS on Immune System
- Vulnerability to HIV/AIDS
- Socio-economic effects of HIV and AIDS
- Prevention and control of HIV/AIDS
- HIV and AIDS management and care and support for infected and affected
- Communicable diseases
- Mitigation of HIV and AIDS
- HIV and AIDS Counselling
- Community responsibilities
- HIV and AIDS mainstreaming in organizations, programmes and projects

Target Group: Human resource managers/officers. This course targets program managers, fundraising staff, Local government employees, Managers, department heads, team leaders and supervisors of NGOs, LNGOs, CBOs, Church leaders, technical and academic team members.
